Brief explanation of Founders' Award.
This award is the highest award that can be attained in the Senior's programme.
Senior's programme generally refers as Secondary School age 13 as of 1st January to 18 years old.

The award recipents have to go through a 3 year badge work course that requires skills such as Adventure, Christianity Education, Lifeskills course, Drill, First-aid, Community Service, Leadership, Commitment in the company, Leadership Development Course, National Events such as National Day Parade/BB Camp Temasek, Sports such as Kayaking/Swimming as an elective, Total Defence education, Participation in National level BB competition and National Youth Achievement Award.

Well, seems like our Founders' Man are really quality of the qualities. However, attain the previous courses is not enough. Nearing to the end of the fourth year, they would have to register as Potential Founders' Man(as know as PFM). They will be assigned courses to be the runner of the course assisting the officers who organise the course or even assign to a team of PFMs to run Charity programme. Lastly, there will be an one-to-one interview as well as 4 rounds of test which are related to the past 3 years of badge work. Therefore, having the ability to clinch the highest award is just not as easy as to be said.

Therefore, as the members of the 26th Singapore Company, I am proud to present to you our very own Founders' Man 2009!

Adventure Quest 2008 is a National level competition in The Boys' Brigade.

5th April 2008 (Saturday)

Flag-off point: Dover ITE

This year a total of 100 boys team 63 BB companies joined this
competition. Each team consist of 4 boys, have to complete
a 2 leg segment of this race. The flag-off was at 6:30am

The 1st Leg consist of Map Navigation, Running and Rock Climbing.

The 2nd Leg consist of Cycling, Kayaking and Archery.

A total of 40 Kilometres in 8 hours

The 26th Company sent 2 teams this year.

This coming Thursday, 13th March 2008.

We will be meeting in Queenstown Lutheran Church at 9:00am sharp instead of 1:30pm. Please take note of the change of time.

Attire is BB Polo T-shirt, Black shorts and Track shoes.
The cost for the camp is 15 singapore dollars.(S$15)

For your information, the nearest MRT to Queenstown Lutheran Church is
Commonwealth MRT Station. It is walking distance from Commonwealth MRT Station to Queenstown Lutheran Church.

Exit from the right overhead bridge after coming out of the station. Then walk straight and turn right and you should see New Town Primary School on your right.

Just keep walking straight and you will see the church building which is red in colour.

The Camp will end on 14th March 2008 around afternoon time.

You're advised to bring 1.5 litres of water for the hike.

After Lunch-time Buffet,

It was Badminton and Captain's Ball match.
It was held indoors because of the wet weather.

While the indoor segement started a war in the game of Risk.
Followed by Carrom.

And up next is the results for Festival of Games 2007

First thing first, The Boys' Brigade, 26th Singapore Company would like to thank the following people,

Festival of Games 2007

The Boys' Brigade, 26th Singapore Company's
Festival of Games was revived in the year 2006.

It was an inter-squad competition which consists of
various Indoor and Outdoor games.

But in 2007, The Boys' Brigade invited the other 3 Uniform Groups in
Tanglin Secondary School.

They are:

National Police Cadet Corp,

National Cadet Corp,

Saint John Ambulance Brigade and

The Boys' Brigade.

It was held on the 20th November 2007, a one-day event.

Early in the morning, 9:00am. The Outdoor started off with
Basketball match and Floorball match.

As for the Indoor Segement, they start the ball rolling in the game of Monopoly followed by The Game of Life

After the first round of activities. It was buffet lunch-time.

What does CCA stands for?
It stands for Co-Curricular Activity.

It is complusary to join 1 CCA. It will help for your admission to Junior College and even Polytechnic. Especially to compete with someone who has the same 'O'level score as you and wants to enter a JC/ Poly Course same as you. But he doesn't have any/ lesser CCA point bonus point than you. You will have a higher chance to get in to the course.

What does UG stands for?
It stands for Uniform Group.

There are 4 Uniform Groups in Tanglin Secondary School.

National Police Cadet Corp, National Cadet Corp, Saint John Ambulance Brigade and The Boys' Brigade.
Uniform Groups trains students to be discipline, responsible and unleash their leadership potential as well as talents within students.

But in The Boys' Brigade we provide a lot of different trainings.

There are 4 of them:

Physical - sports such as Archery, Rock-Climbing, Abseiling, Cycling, Kayaking, Recruit Hike, Festival of Games and Soccer.

aunnal Boys' Brigade Sharity Gift Box (it was reported in the news) We will be collecting food from people around Singapore then packed them up and deliver them to homes of the aged as well as unfortunate people.

And we'll also not forget about having fun learning, growing and playing together.

Our History:

Our company was officially opened in October 17th, 1966.
At that time it was sponsored by Queenstown Lutheran Church.
Students from different Secondary Schools in the West and South district joined the 26th Singapore Company. And there were more than 100 members in the company.

The Best year of the 26th Company was back in 1991. 26th achieved National Drill Competition Champion, National Fancy Drill Competition Champion and National Bible Quiz Champion. And we've got the Best Company Award for 1991.

*National means the whole of Singapore's Boys' Brigade companies. There were at least 80 companies at that time including schools like Raffles Institution, Anglo-Chinese School and Victoria School.

In 1994, 26th Company moved from Queenstown Lutheran Church to Tanglin Secondary School.

James Milner Fraser award for Excellence was introduced in 2001 to recognise company's whole year performance in the Brigade level(National level)

In order to achieve Bronze Honour Roll, the company has to attain 70% of the overall year performance.

For Silver Honour Roll, the company has to attain 80% of the overall year performance.

For Gold Honour Roll, the company has to attain 90% of the overall year performance including 2 Founders' Man

*Founders' Man is the highest award attainable in the Senior's programme. They have to attain the required badges and assisting in Brigade-level Project as well as going through an interview.

We've got our First Bronze Honour Roll for 2002's James Milner Fraser assessment

Second Bronze Honour Roll for 2003 's assessment

Third Bronze Honour Roll for 2004's assessment

But for 2005's assessment, we achieved our First Silver Honour Roll
- Adventure Quest Gold Honour Roll, Relay team category Champion
- National Bible Quiz Gold Honour Roll
- BB week Gold Honour Roll
- 3 Founders' Man
And for 2006's assessment, we achieved our first Gold Honour Roll for James Milner Fraser award for Excellence for 2006 overall performance.
(This is the James Milner Fraser award for Excellence Gold Honour Roll for 2006)

It was through hardwork and teamwork in the company. We went through thick and thin, training together, fun and excitement.
The Gold Honour Roll was not easy. But we were together as one company.

-Gold Honour Roll for National Bible Quiz 2006, 9th Position

Our company had been growing from strength to strength each year since we had mved to Tanglin Secondary School.

On the 26th - 29th December 2007,

The Theme of the Camp this year is 'Prepare the Way'

On the first day, 26th December 2007
the Advance team left for Camp Christine, Girl Guides Campsite at 9:30am
While the rest set off at 12pm.

We started off with going to our groups. The 4 groups were named after Biblical Characters like Noah, Enoch, Adam and Simon.

Next was Group Ice-Breaker Games like Chop Chilli Chop, memorising group members names as well as something about themselves and memorise actions done by every group member in sequence.

The next event was Mass Ice-Breaker Game, Evolution. Everyone will start off as a Egg->Chicken->Eagle->Superman->Immortal. The game is played with Scissors, Paper, Stone. 2 person of the same rank will play and the one who wins will level up and the one who loses, down!

(Chicken1 V.S. Chicken2 No.1 win become Eagle while No,2 becomes Egg)

Once the player reaches Immortal, he has finish the game. One of our boy, Chan Yugene was one of them. But guess who did the forfeit? The IMMORTALS! We ended up doing Chicken dance for 4 times in four directions.

After this was Outdoor games, Dodge ball. There will be a line in the middle with balls on it. The opponent team will face each other. When the game starts, the teams have to snatch the balls from the middle and get back to their base. Next was throwing the ball. If get hit, the player is out. But if the ball was not bounced on the ground and was caught by teamate that is alive. The player that is out will revive. The game ends when all members of a team are out.

The last game of the night was Candle Game. There will be 2 chairs separated parallel to each other. and with a string tied to each chair and coated with wax.
There was a total of 3 games. Each game with different game rules.
1st was 2 defender who will blow out the flame of the opponent candle and the rest
of the teamates are attacker who burns the string of the opponent teams.
2nd was only 1 defender allowed.
Last was Sudden Death, no defender at all.
So what happens if the attacker's flame was blow out. He will have to go back to his base to light up from the base candle.

On the 2nd Day, 27th December 2007

Started off with Warm-up exercises and running.

Group Quiet time reading the Bible verses given and Group will have to discuss
using SPECS as guide.
